Jumbo Slab Bowl

Jumbo Slab Bowl

This is a fantastic way to make a large bowl from slabs. I love the freeform nature of this bowl and that you can make them any size you want. These bowls make perfect center pieces or large serving bowls. This class is appropriate for all ages and skill levels.

Materials:
Clay slab about 3/8”” thick, about 8lbs of your favorite clay, I am using Laguna Bmix5
20” lace doily
Large drape/hump mold (I am using a wok bowl mold)
Flexible ribs of choice, I prefer the large yellow # 3 and small red # 1 Sherril Mud Tools
Needle Tool
Clay Knife, I love the Dolan 220S clay knife
Slab mat or ware board to work on (uWedge Work Mat: https://www.theceramicshop.com/product/14969/uwedge-work-mat-20x-30/)
Serrated Rib
Banding wheel
Sponge
Slab Roller or thickness strips and rolling pin
Pony Roller

Plastic sheet for covering, I use dry cleaner bags or the plastic from window insulation kits
Kiln, your own or access to one
