People Vases

In this class you will learn how to make a tall, tapered hand-built vase with painted face, clothing and details. You will also learn different ways to paint faces and patterns on your vases. This class will teach you basic hand building skills and the skills to make as many face and body patterns as you can think of! This class is perfect for all ages and skill levels.

Materials:
3-4 lbs of clay, rolled out to a 3/8” slab, you can use any clay you like, I am using Laguna B-Mix5
Clay Knife, I am using the Dolan 220s,
Needle Tool
Flexible ribs, I am using the large yellow and #1 red Sherrill mud tool
Sponge
Truncated cone vase template or a rectangle template
People Vase Design Sheet
4.5” and 4” circle cookie cutters
Bowl or bucket of water
Serrated rib
Wooden Knife
Rolling pin
Craft Brushes
Terracotta Pots or Rounders
Face Design Notebook
Ware boards for working on and drying on, here I am using ¾” plywood
Mayco Stroke and Coats or Underglazes with a clear glaze
Kiln, your own or access to one
