In Part 1 of this workshop, Stacie will provide a brief intro to 3D printing, show some examples of 3D printed tools and objects that can be used for making pottery, present demos on how to model, print and use some 3D-printed tools, and discuss how the 3D printing process relates to CNC and die cutting. Participants will get to see a 3D printer in action, learn about some software and websites used to design and create 3D models, and see some 3D-printed tools used in clay. The goal of Part 1 is to demystify 3D printing for potters and give participants the confidence to try it out on their own.
