First Cone 10 glaze firing in the L&L Plug-N-Fire Kiln and it did not disappoint! I’ve also included the second cone 10 firing in this kiln as a bonus and because the glazes are awesome!
In the first glaze firing I used Mayco Frost Blue on the cup(love it) Maycoshino and Oxblood on the bowl and test tiles with Green Tea, Robins Egg, Sea Salt and Capri Blue. I did not like the Oxblood and looking at other examples this one from Mayco is not a great glaze for cone 10.
In the second glaze firing I used Green Tea on the cup and I love it so much! Then for the bowl I used Robins Egg which did a gorgeous tea dust effect that is stunning. The test tiles were Midnight Rain and Smoke, the Smoke turned out similar to the Green Tea so I’ll be doing more tests with that glaze.
The clay used here is my own Jmix cone 10 stoneware
