Heart Trinket Box

You are going to fall in love with making these sweet little heart trinket boxes. We will be using basic slab building techniques to make the box and lid. We will also explore other box shapes that can be made using the skills taught in this class. These are a great project for testing out textures and glaze combinations. These boxes are perfect for holding your little treasures and make a great gift. This class is perfect for all ages and skill levels.
*These can also be made from air dry or oven bake clay and painted with acrylic paint but they will not hold food or liquids.

Materials:
3 lbs of clay, you can use any clay you like, here I am using Laguna bmix
Clay Knife, I am using the Dolan 220s,
Flexible ribs, I am using the Large Yellow and #1 Red Sherrill mud tool
Sponge
3” & 2” Heart cookie cutters or any shape you like
Yard Stick
Bowl or bucket of Water
Textured Rolling pin, lace or anything you would like to use for adding texture.
Serrated rib
Color/clay shaper
Rolling pin
Ware board, here I am using ¾” plywood
Kiln, your own or access to one

Glazes Used:
Amaco Aqua & Lustrous Jade 3 coats of each
