I've been working with a 50W CO2 laser for much of the year and just wanted to pass along a software tip: LightBurn is a fantastic tool that is exceptionally well-written with a very straightforward User Interface. I am not a graphic artist by any stretch of the imagination and have had my moments with Illustrator and Inkscape. While I use Inkscape primarily to convert png files into svg documents, I've found that the simple, easy to use node editor in LightBurn is far less complex to work with, especially if a design needs to be simplified for the laser to successfully engrave. My experience with wood products in general, and rolling pins specifically, have more than a few tripping-hazards. So if you're not already aware of LightBurn, it's worth a visit to their site and well supported user forums. www.lightburnsoftware.com
