Kiln Opening featuring all of the pieces we’ve made, glazed and lustered in ClayShare classes during the holiday season of 2024.
For all of these I used Mayco/Duncan Mother of Pearl which is food safe. Since Mayco has discontinued their line of lusters and a good source for lusters is dbaorginals.com
I do happen to have a few jars of the Mayco lusters left and will use them up before switching brands.
This was a cone 018 firing done on medium speed with a 1 hour preheat.
What do you think, should I luster the large Blobby Cat platter like I did the small one?
I am very happy with everything in this firing. I plan to add gold to a few and fire them again with some other lustered pieces. My favorite may be the cute gingerbread girl sweater mug but I do love the large blue and white platter, it’s too hard to choose. Which piece or piece are your favorites?
